Terms

Last updated: October 30, 2026 · Refund policy

The short version

  • We find new restaurants opening in your area and mail them a short, friendly letter from you.
  • You pay monthly. The first two weeks are free. Cancel anytime.
  • Everything is included: research, writing, printing and postage. No setup fee and no minimum term. We never take a cut of the business you win.
  • You're responsible for what you tell us about your business. We're responsible for our work, and we make our mistakes right.

These terms are between you (the client) and SYMIX LLC, a New York company doing business as Ribboncut ("we"). When you start a trial or a plan, you agree to them.

1. What we do

Every week we:

  1. find restaurants about to open, or just opened, in your territory, using public records such as city permits, health inspections and liquor licence applications;
  2. check that each one is really new, and find out who runs it from public business sources;
  3. write a short introduction from you, using the letter you approved and only the facts you gave us;
  4. print and mail it.

Restaurants reply to you directly. We don't make calls, and we don't speak for you after the letter.

2. Plans and prices

Standard: Manhattan, Brooklyn or QueensLight: Bronx + Staten Island
Founding (first 10 clients), monthly$500$200
Regular, monthly$750$300
Founding / regular, yearly$5,000 / $7,500$2,000 / $3,000
Extra territory, founding / regular, monthly+$200 / +$300+$100 / +$150
  • Prices follow how many restaurants open in each territory. The Bronx and Staten Island count as one territory.
  • Founding prices never go up, as long as your plan stays active and paid without a break. There are 10 founding spots across both tiers.
  • One firm per trade in each territory. While your plan is active and paid, we won't mail for a competitor in your trade and territory.
  • Up to 2 territories per trade. If a territory in your trade has no client, we may let you add it month to month. If another firm asks for it, we give you 30 days' notice, then it moves to them and you stop paying for it.
  • What you get: a letter to every genuinely new opening we find in your territory each week. Some weeks bring more, some fewer. We don't promise a set number.
  • Free trial: two weeks, one per company. Before the trial ends, we email you the date of your first charge and the amount.

3. Paying

  • Plans renew automatically each month (or year) until you cancel.
  • Stripe processes payments. They show on your statement as RIBBONCUT.
  • If a payment fails, we email you. After 5 days unpaid, we pause your letters.

4. Cancelling

  • Cancel anytime, from the link in your billing emails or by emailing us. We confirm it by email the same business day.
  • If we offer you a discount and you still decide to cancel, it takes one simple click.
  • We'll ask why you're leaving, with a short menu. Answering is optional and never stands in the way of cancelling.
  • Monthly plans run to the end of the month you've paid for, then stop. No cancellation fee.

5. Your part

  • Tell us the truth. Everything you give us must be true and current: your services, offers, licences, insurance and contact details. We print only what you give us and never add claims of our own. If something you gave us is false and it causes a claim or cost, that's yours to cover, not ours. Tell us when anything changes and we'll update your letters before the next mailing.
  • Licence check. Before your first letters (trial included), we check your licence or approval against public records. If it doesn't check out, we don't start, and we refund anything you paid.
  • Your letter. You approve your letter when you join, and again whenever it changes. You honour any offer in it.
  • Your name on the letters. You let us use your business name, contact details and any logo you give us in your letters. This is only for Ribboncut, and only while your plan is active.
  • Replies are yours to answer, promptly and politely.
  • Use it lawfully. Nothing illegal, misleading or harassing.

6. How we contact restaurants and businesses

  • Your introductions go by mailed letter, to the business's address and never to a home.
  • If a business asks us to stop, it gets no more letters from anyone we work for.
  • When we email businesses about Ribboncut itself, we follow the US CAN-SPAM Act: an honest sender and subject, a note that it's a sales email, our postal address, and an opt-out we honour at once.

7. If we get it wrong, we make it right

  • We hand each week's letters to our mailing partner by 9:00 am Eastern every Monday.
  • Each week we email you a delivery note listing every letter: the business, its address and the date mailed.
  • Missed week: if we found new openings in your territory and didn't mail them by Monday, that week is free. You don't have to ask. A quiet week with no new openings isn't a miss, and the delivery note will say so.
  • Our mistake: if a letter doesn't go out, goes to the wrong address through our error, prints wrong, or doesn't match your approved letter, we resend it where we can. You choose a free week or a refund of that week. Just email us.
  • Mail lost or delayed by the post office after we send it, and businesses that close, move or don't reply, aren't our mistakes.

8. What we can't promise

We find, check, write and mail. We can't promise replies, meetings or sales. Public records can be incomplete or out of date. We check them, but we can't guarantee every business is new, open, or run by the person we name.

9. Your information

  • We use what you give us only to run Ribboncut. We never sell it.
  • Stripe holds your card details. We never see or store them.
  • We use automated tools to research and write the letters.
  • To see or delete what we hold about you, email us.

10. Ending service

We may pause or end service if a payment is more than 5 days late, if you break these terms, or if continuing would break the law or harm someone. If we end it for no reason of yours, we refund any prepaid time you haven't used.

11. Limits

As far as the law allows, the most we owe you for any claim is what you paid us in the three months before it. We're not responsible for lost profits or other indirect losses.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 30 days before any change to your price or to what you get. Founding prices never change while your plan stays active and paid.

13. Law

New York law applies. Any dispute goes to the courts in New York County.

14. Contact

Refund policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

  • Free trial: two weeks. Cancel before it ends and you're never charged.
  • Monthly plans: the first two weeks are free, so paid months aren't refunded. Cancel anytime; your plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for, then stops.
  • Yearly plans: a full refund within 30 days of the charge. After 30 days, the months you've used are charged at your plan's monthly price, and we refund the rest. For example, a regular Standard yearly plan ($7,500) cancelled after 4 months: 4 × $750 = $3,000 used, $4,500 refunded.
  • Our mistakes: see Terms section 7. A missed week is free automatically; for a mailing mistake you choose a free week or a refund.
  • How refunds arrive: back to your original card through Stripe, usually within 5–10 business days.
  • How to ask: email creatormps@symixllc.com. We keep all communication to email, so everything is on record.
